Dear Business Neighbors,

The Kidsville Optimist Club is proud to announce a brand new holiday tradition coming soon to the Helotes area: Winterfest Helotes. A spirited community event, Winterfest Helotes will bring families and friends together for a fun-filled day of celebration during this special time of year.
On December 7, 2013 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., families, friends and neighbors are invited to experience the magic of the holidays at this unique festival. From a visit from Santa Clause to sixty thousand pounds of REAL snow – winter and all of its trappings will arrive in South Texas at Winterfest Helotes!
Winterfest Helotes will also showcase the talent of local performing groups from schools across the district and other talented young vocalists, dancers and athletes. We welcome our elementary, middle and high school students as well as local dance and karate studios, gymnastic classes, bands and other entertainers to take advantage of this great opportunity to be seen and heard as Winterfest Helotes live entertainment!
As a business, we are proud to offer you several opportunities to be involved with Winterfest Helotes. We invite you to become a title sponsor, a participant in our Holiday Scavenger Hunt, a vendor, or even a donator of gift certificates or other items to help make our general and grand prize drawings possible. We also appreciate community volunteers. Any gesture of generosity and participation is valued.
As the founder and lead organizer of a similar holiday event in the Stone Oak area for the past eight years, I have seen firsthand how a community can come together to create new memories during this special time of year. Winterfest Helotes has several purposes behind its creation. We ask the community to donate a new, unwrapped toy for the Elf Louise Christmas Project. It’s wonderful to see neighbors, friends and businesses unite in the spirit of giving each holiday season.
All funds raised from Winterfest Helotes will be directly donated to the Kidsville Optimist Club, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing out the best in children. Kidsville Optimist Club is extremely active in promoting the accomplishments of our youth. We currently recognize children nominated by their teachers through our Truman Hall of Fame program and also highlight their accomplishments in Kidsville News!, a family newspaper used as an educational resource at many elementary schools and distributed by local businesses and medical offices throughout the community. Kidsville Optimist Club also recognizes outstanding teachers in appreciation of the important role they play in helping our children succeed. We plan to implement even more programs in the near future to continue our mission of spotlighting our youth and the mentors who help them succeed.
Winterfest Helotes will be a wonderful family event for all ages. Games, carnival rides, live entertainment, food, Santa and REAL snow will all unite our community during a spirited and truly memorable holiday celebration. We look forward to your participation and hope you choose to be part of something very special!
